Wheaton
Massage Therapy was
started in 1985 by Mary Anne Phemister, a nurse
and registered massage therapist. She quickly
realized the medical benefits of therapeutic massage
and its place in the total health care field. The practice
was located in her home. As the demand grew for safe and therapeutic
massage, Mary Anne gradually added skilled and
talented therapists to assist her. Soon it was time
to move to the larger space on E. Liberty drive in Wheaton.
Ten years later, due to the pressing need for still
more space, Wheaton Massage Therapy moved to a new, larger location
at 460 S. County Farm Road. Wheaton Massage Therapy was DuPage County's oldest
and largest provider of quality therapeutic massage.
In September of 2000, Mary Anne sold the practice to Molly Farrell, a colleague and massage therapist, who had been working with her. Molly continued to live up to the legacy that Mary Anne created through stressing continuing education for her caring and compassionate therapists. She continued to be dedicated to helping people manage their stress effectively, minimize pain and discomfort, and maximize wellness in their lives through the use of the many therapeutic massage techniques.
In
December of 2012, Wheaton Massage Therapy was sold to Health Care, PRN LLC and is being integrated into the practice of Wes Steffen. Wes is a Licensed Illinois Massage Therapist and Certified Neuromuscular Therapist. Some of the therapists at Wheaton Massage Therapy are joining the qualified massage therapists who already work for him. Wes worked for Mary Anne for four years until 1994 when he began a separate practice at 222C West Willow Avenue. The mutual respect between the two practices provided Molly a natural choice in the recent transition. Health Care, PRN LLC picks up the legacy to become the oldest and largest locally owned provider of quality theraputic massage. The integration of the combined clientele offers the BEST in natural pro-active health care. |
